Last week, I went to Bandung to train with Scorpion Wrestling. It was a great experience, I made many friends like Artar Igan and Arka

When I usually do wrestling in Singapore, the classes are around 1 and a half hours, but in bandung its 2 hours, and in Bandung, you have no sparring at all. Half of the class is warm ups the other half of the class is technique.

The mats at Scorpion Wrestling are as big as an auditorium in the biggest university in the world. There were two big mats there. They even had a competition there; it was an invitational competition only for those 20 years old and above. I watched the people fight at the competition, and I saw one of my coaches pick his opponent up and supplex him and just pinned him. The match was only 15 seconds.

The warm-ups we did at Scorpion were spring rolls bridges from standing, etc. After that, we’ll practice our stance for wrestling, then once we understand that, we’ll do takedowns, then sprawl, then takedown. After finishing our warm-up, we’ll do one of the techniques. One of the techniques we’ll do is a takedown, then let them sprawl, then finish the takedown, hold them, then pin them.

If we do our techniques right, sometimes we get to play a game at the end, an agility game, so the coaches will split everyone into groups, and we’ll do different runs like bear crawl baby or even sprinting. The team that loses has to do 10 squats.

I hope I can see my friends when I go to Bandung.
