Do you know what a swimming carnival is? I just participated in one today, and it was such an exciting day!

When I arrived, I headed straight to the canteen, which was decorated with vibrant house colors. My house was Guwing, represented by bright yellow. There were also Diramu in green, Badu in blue, and Gili in red. It felt great to be surrounded by everyone in their colorful outfits, cheering for their teams.

The carnival started with the races. First, there were the 13-year-old boys and girls, followed by the 12-year-olds. I watched as my friends swam their hearts out, and soon it was my turn! I competed in my age group and gave it my all. I came in 4th place in my race. Although I didn’t win, I was proud of my effort. If I couldn’t swim well, the lifeguards were ready to help, which made me feel safe. There was also a 100-meter pool where swimmers of any age could compete, and they had a rematch for those who placed 1st and 2nd in earlier races.

After my race, I was excited to see my friends Ivan and Agape in the water play area. This meant they could enjoy the water without racing, which looked like so much fun! My other friend Edric competed in the 50-meter race but didn’t finish as he had hoped, just like me.

Once all the races were over, we had a break for lunch. We could eat whenever we wanted during recess and had a fruit break too. I went to the canteen again and treated myself to a small bag of chips for $5.00. They were so crunchy and tasty!

After lunch, we all went back to school at 2:00 pm. We relaxed by watching a movie, and some of us even worked on an “All About Me” project featuring our favorite sneakers. It was a nice way to wind down after such an exciting day.

Overall, the swimming carnival was a fantastic experience filled with fun, friendship, and teamwork. I can’t wait for the next one!

Goodbye!
